Sorry I haven't got many process pictures for you but the process is really quick & easy. The books come in binder rings and so I have taken it apart to work on the covers individually.
To add texture I firstly put a stencil on the front and back covers using Prima's Light paste. When that was dry I added all my embellishments & glued them using Finn's Heavy Body Gel and dried.
I painted 2 coats of black gesso drying with heat tool in between coats. After final coat was completely dry I went about adding some colour. My first one I choose was Prima - Frank Garcias Artisan Powder in Trianon Patina. I sprayed it a little with water to get the powder moving. When I was happy with it and it was all dry I added my final touches with Finn's waxes. These waxes are brilliant on any black base. Here's how it looked.
I sent this book to Faith so she can play with different mixed media products or techniques inside it & or journal her memories. Whatever the case, these books are great and many mediums can be added to them as the pages are really thick.
