Painters Palette

Welcome back to my 3rd Project, is seems i was on a creative roll for the month of October, here is my Altered Painters Palette from Faiths new Laser cut selection, along with some wonderful chipboard pieces she has also designed, these are sea and beach themed and as i live on the edge of an Estuary i thought it fitting to include the view from our deck on a spring day. I hope you enjoy viewing my latest project.

I prepped the Palette by applying a coat of Finnabair Art Basics heavy white Gesso over the area, set aside to dry. Once dry I then covered the area with texture paste and a Tim Holtz Burlap stencil .

Once dry i added colour using my Derwent Inktence blocks , then started placing down my layout of the chipboard pieces and metal sea themed charms, i also added sea shells from our local beach to give it more of a personal touch, and of course the photo which i laminated to protect it.

Once I was satisfied with the placement of the embellishments I glued them into place using E6000.

The fence and the Anchor i coloured in Tim Holtz Distress ink Vintage Photo and then embossed them with Distress embossing powder also in Vintage Photo to give it a rusty old look.

Once colour was down and it was all dry i rubbed inka gold to age it all a bit more and hand drew the seagulls and window on the lighthouse.

Hope your inspired to maybe choose some wonderful beach or nautical themed photos and create a masterpiece for yourself.

Till next time take care and keeping smiling.

Tracey
