Hey all, welcome back. Today I am really excited to share with you all my altered altoid tin. This is a project I created for FPCS and I loved how it turned out so much that I didn't just make one....I had to go back and make another, which you will see further down the post.
I really do love anything old...I mean really old and rustic looking. The sort of old that you may find buried in an old shed or even in someone's attic....that kinda old. Faith sent me this tin.
It started out as a little Travel caddy, possibly for housing sewing supplies, but I totally re-purposed it....now it looks like a rusty old antique tin!! The little assemblage inside is comprised of bits n bobs from FPCS. The only thing that was mine was the frame and digi print.
This look was much easier to achieve than I ever thought possible.
I simply used some scrumpled up tissue paper, gesso, modpodge, Reeves course texture paste and Lindy Stamp gang sprays in Gossamer Gold; Burnished Brass, Golden Dubloons and Dark Chocolate Truffles.
I also heavily inked the tissue paper with a mix of Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Walnut Stain and Vintage photo. I then added some Blue Patina Perfect Pearls Mist.
I adhered the charms and metal embellisments with E6000 and the rest was glued into place with glossy accents. So I will stop yakking now and let you all enjoy the glamour pics.
and this last pic below is the two little tins together....
All the metal charms, knobs, handles and chain are from Faith Pocock Craft Studio as is the small glass bottle.
